Situated in the beautiful south Shropshire countryside, a short distance south and west of Bridgnorth, our parish brings together four rural communities, each with its own character, history and place in the local landscape. Surrounded by rolling farmland, peaceful lanes and attractive countryside, our area is a special place to live, work and visit.

Billingsley

Billingsley is a rural village with a fascinating history shaped by both agriculture and industry. Although the surrounding landscape is peaceful today, the area was once an important centre for coal mining and ironstone working. The historic Church of St Mary, with its Norman features and ancient yew trees, is a reminder of the village’s rich heritage and long-standing place in the local community.

Deuxhill

Deuxhill is a small and tranquil rural hamlet nestled within the Shropshire countryside. Its quiet setting and agricultural surroundings reflect the traditional character of this part of the county. With a history stretching back many centuries, Deuxhill forms an important part of our parish’s rural identity and shared heritage.

Glazeley

Glazeley is a small rural community surrounded by the fields, lanes and green spaces characteristic of the Shropshire countryside. The nearby Borle Brook adds to the area’s natural landscape, providing a reminder of the importance of our local waterways and habitats. Glazeley’s history and countryside setting contribute to the distinctive character of our parish.

Middleton Scriven

Middleton Scriven is a picturesque rural village with a long and interesting history. Recorded in the Domesday Book as Middeltone, the village has deep agricultural roots and has retained much of its traditional countryside character. Its historic landscape and peaceful surroundings make it an important part of our parish’s heritage.
